SCARS TO YOUR BEAUTIFUL
I guess you all would have definitely heard the song 'Scars to your beautiful' by Alessia Cara. (If not, Do check out the lyrics, I'm sure it is worth it)
We do like to hide our scars, don't we? Afraid that people might judge us. Not pretty enough. Hiding our past. I am not just talking about physical scars that can be seen by the common eyes. I am also referring to the emotional and mental scars that would have been inflicted at any point in our lives.
It pains, doesn't it? Even to just think about it? Some days we might even want to shrink away and completely forget about it all.
Not everyone can understand the pain and the trauma. It is really tough to face it alone. Every human is scared of facing their scar.
Physical scars are not always seen as a pleasant thing. Some might notice it the instant they strike a conversation. It would definitely be a question put forth. 'Are those chickenpox scars?', 'Were you injured during an accident', 'Allergies?', 'Didn't you consult a doctor?', 'I know a really good doctor/medicine for that', and it just goes on and on. Every person is self conscious. It really doesn't help us if they notice it immediately and give us 'The Look'. So ultimately you just try to cover it up somehow. Some scars fade in due course while the others just stay.
Emotional pain is difficult to deal with as they can be deeply felt by the soul. It is a battle where people might sometimes empathize with you, but it is you who has to fight till you win it. Every pain leads to a wound that leaves an everlasting scar.
Not every symptom of the result of your emotional battle is shown physically. Every person you meet is fighting a battle of their own.
Crying does not make you weak. It is another true and a valid human emotion. Cry it all out whenever you want. We do need to let out our frustration once in a while, but do make sure that it does not hurt another.
But trust me when I say that every battle makes you more and more immune and strong. It does sting, but it is part of the aftermath. Never give up at any cost and be ready to face whatever comes your way. You are stronger than you seem. Your heart and soul strives to fight till the end. Do not ever let them down.
After a few years, when you look back at the path that you bravely crossed, you should be damn proud of yourself.
Not one type of scar is less painful and less difficult to undergo than the other. If you see someone undergoing a painful time, lend an ear to listen, a heart to understand, a mind to help and a soul to heal and bring them out of the darkness. It would help them a lot more than you realize.
It takes a different level of courage to flaunt your scars. It is one of the beautiful assets that a human can own.
You, my friend, are one of the strongest person who can carry their scars with grace. A kind soul who can guide and support another scarred person who is desperate for a beacon of hope. Your scar gives you strength. It has shaped you into the awesome person you are today. Do not change anything about it, It is the world and the people around you that has to change if they cannot see the beauty in those deep and meaningful pieces of yours.
Never fade away. Prove to be a mirror that can radiate positivity like the sunlight.
You are a unique wonder.
Don't try to cover them up, let them shine like bright and powerful stars that would scorch anyone who sees them as nothing but an unwanted sin.
It might be a long dark journey, but you will soon realize that your path to light shines from within.
Be a wolf who can survive the wild days and fight its demons and yet stand strong and majestic.
Every scar tells a story.
A beautiful story.
Don't let anyone let you believe otherwise.
